Hi all,

As most of you are probably aware, our dear friends at Samantec have bought out sygate, and as a result of this, they say that they are not intending to maintain the firewall, thus there will no longer be updates for it. I was wondering therefor, if any of you could suggest a good firewall for people like myself to use in it's place. I tried Kerio, but it seems to make my system rung very slowly for some reason. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Danielle

what windows os are you using?
If you are using xp, it has a firewall built in to it.

try norton internet security, I know it's symantic, but it's bomproof from the box. it also has anti virus too.

I use the hardware firewall on my router and then windows firewall on my pc. Between them they've never let anything through that I'm aware of.

well, i don't have a router, lol, and there is no way on earth i'm using xp firewall, i have a very low oppinion of it from previous experiences. as far as norton internet security goes, i don't like the way it used to ask you if you wanted to allow programmes, but it wouldnt' let you specify what you wanted to allow them to do

I've heard tiny personal firewall is another good one, then again I don't know if that's being made any more.
